How do you follow up a Cannes Gold Lion? It wasn’t easy, but we gave it a beer shot. We knew we had another billboard media buy. We knew we found a sweet spot with the way we were talking to beer drinkers. We also knew the economy sucked. We thought up a way to help local businesses and beer drinkers. Long before there were “apps” on smartphones, we created a simple transaction using a camera. If you had a camera on your phone, then you now have a very rudimentary “digital coupon.” Our account team rocked it as we had to cold call small businesses all across Ontario. It was fun when it all came together, and the judges that year gave us a Silver lion.
